Fulfilling your Purpose and Destiny
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them….Romans 8:6
Have you stopped lately to seek God and consider what the true purpose for your life is? Only as you understand and embrace your life’s purpose, you become the best you can be. Then you will have the greatest positive impact in this world. So what are the keys to discovering and fulfilling your purpose and destiny? Firstly you need to believe that there is a purpose and destiny for your life! Sounds easy huh? We’re called to walk together with God to build the Kingdom, to make disciples of all the nations. God’s on the throne, not Satan. The passage in Romans 6 tells us to discover our gifting and direction.
Secondly, we need to make lifestyle choices that enable God’s call to be fulfilled through you. ‘Seek first the Kingdom of God’, which means completely surrender all you have to totally focus on God’s Kingdom – with no distractions. Paul said, ‘This one thing I do…’ Find something that you are extremely good at doing (this is often referred to as your natural talent) and surrender it unto God. Seek Him for ways to use this natural ability for kingdom purposes.
Thirdly, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, especially in a crisis. And when you are doing well remember to thank God and give Him all the glory. Thanksgiving, my Pastor always says ‘is the seed for more’.
Finally, remember the objective of all our efforts should be to hear these words, ‘well done, good and faithful servant’, not ‘good and successful servant’! Our obedience now and our willingness to sacrifice now, will determine our reward in heaven.
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, I seek You about my calling. Confirm the gifts that you’ve given me. I desire to follow You with my life. Amen
