Following God

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16

There is a God-shaped void in the heart of every human being which many have tried filling with other things. But it is only Jesus who can show us what God is really like. For, as Paul so succinctly expressed this amazing truth, ‘For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth’. If we want to know what God is like, then all we need to do is look to Him. If we want to know the way to go in life, all we need to do is follow Him.

The older I get, the simpler the message of the Gospel seems to become! To follow Him is the beginning and the end of it all. Look to God. Follow God. Develop your relationship with the Father by reading daily His word or setting aside a devotional moment to seek His face. He is a never changing God. The same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and the next day and the day after that, until one day we will take our final human step and follow Him into eternity.
