Fly on wings of hope!

Fly on wings of hope!
I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.” Psalm 55:6
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly? Not in an airplane, but like a bird – just to soar above the earth and be free. If so, in today’s verse King David felt the same way. He says “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest” (Psalm 55:6). Considering the life of David there was so much going on which would have caused him to feel weighed down and longing to just fly away from it all.
I too know what this feels like. To have so much going on that you just want to fly away. But, I am encouraged today knowing that I do not have to feel this way. When I place my trust and hope in God, He gives us wings, even when we falter. Even when we are tired and weary. When we stumble and fall. Hope is there to hold us up! It is the wind beneath our wings, which propels us along, enabling us to not just survive but to soar. To overcome!
Another reassuring scripture is Romans 8:37-39. ‘No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord’.
I can cast all my anxiety on Him because He cares for me. I need to learn this lesson well.
Prayer for today: Father, please forgive me for sometimes being so slow to learn the lessons about trusting you implicitly. You care about every single aspect of my life. I bring all my concerns to You, knowing that there is nothing that You cannot do. Please help me to always remember the truth of this. Amen.
