Finding God’s Purpose in Waiting
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. Isaiah 40:31
The life of Joseph can be summed into two words – purpose and waiting. We have the benefit of knowing this story from beginning to end, but if we think about it from a human perspective, imagine how crushing this season must have been to Joseph. Joseph was not wise in his actions and his brothers were up to no good. Yet still God did not let the situation break Joseph instead He used it to his benefit to develop within Joseph a plan and a purpose.
There is strength to be found in the waiting season. As we wait, let it not be a weight. Give your burdens to the Lord through prayer. Seek Him and just let it all out. If it helps try journaling your thoughts or even creating a voice note. Speak to the Father and be open to how God has designed the end.
Trust in God and His timing, He can accomplish so much in our hearts. Remain open to the move of God and watch Him work. Often in the waiting season we will find new purpose in life, receive answers to prayer and most often be at peace with God’s perfect plan. Remember, waiting is not wasted time!
Pray this prayer with me and make it a personal one….
Prayer for today: Dear God, You are above all things. I place my trust in You because I understand all the strength I need is in Your hands. I am not asking that you take this trail away. Instead, I simply ask that You keep me during it. I trust that You know best and so let Your will be done in my life. Help me to lean on you always. In Jesus name. Amen
