Find Strength
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
When we read God’s Word, we discover that we are called as believers, to live with three realities in mind. First, it is a fact that we are living in a world that’s been broken by sin. Secondly, it is a fact that although we are children of God, we lack the power to on our own, fight the spiritual battles which we will face in this world of sin. Finally, and most importantly we are comforted with His presence; we are never alone.
Just as a seed must endure darkness and pressure to grow, so too must we endure trials to grow in faith and character. In the face of adversity, we have the assurance that our suffering is not in vain. Rather, it is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our present troubles.
Though our struggles may seem insurmountable, we can find strength in knowing that God is with us every step of the way. As we fix our eyes on the unseen reality of God’s eternal promises, we are empowered to persevere through life’s challenges with unwavering faith.
Prayer for today: Gracious God, grant us the strength to endure the trials of life with unwavering faith. Help us to fix our eyes on the unseen realities of Your eternal promises, knowing that our present troubles are producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Amen.
