Find Peace in His Sovereignty
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7
How often do we forget that God is already working, even when we can’t see the outcome? We spend so much time trying to control the situation, gathering more “horses”, the things that we think are needed for the battle, not recognizing that God already has it covered. This is the sovereignty of God means He is in control of everything; nothing happens outside of His will.
In a world where human power seems to dominate, it’s easy to forget that God reigns supreme over all. Psalm 97:1 says “The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad.” Psalm 97:1 invites us to rejoice in His sovereignty, for His reign is perfect and just. When we trust in His rule, we can find peace knowing that God’s plan will prevail, no matter what happens around us.
Today, rest in the truth that God is sovereign over every situation. Trust that His purposes will not fail, and His power is at work in the world, as the song writer says ‘Even when I don’t see it, You’re working. Even when I don’t feel it, You’re working. You never stop, You never stop working. You never stop…’
Prayer for today: Lord, I thank You for Your sovereign reign. Help me to trust in Your perfect plan and find peace in the knowledge that You are in control. Amen.
