Extra Time

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17

With so many nations on lockdown or places opening to a reduced capacitance, the question is what are you doing with your free time? We seem to have more time on our hands these days. If so, what are we doing with it? Are we filling it with activity to keep ourselves occupied, are we watching news living in fear or are we using the time to be still before the Lord? Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” To know Him as God, is to spend time with Him, resting in His presence and immersed in His grace, with the full assurance of His love, during these times I am certain that is the place He would have us be.

Today I challenge you to spend some time with God. Read a passage to strengthen the spirit man. Sing praises unto Him, old hymns to remind you of His faithfulness. To know anyone or anything there must be a basis of truth, otherwise there’s nothing to build on. Truth is fundamental and cannot be changed. Jesus said, “I am the truth.” It’s the foundation of faith and powerful in its outworking. However, in order to know Him as the truth and stand on His promises you must first spend time in His word.

To be still and know’ blesses us with the grace, peace, love and joy unspeakable.
