Embracing True Self with God
He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in the darkness, though he is surrounded by light. Daniel 2:22
When we reflect on ourselves, it’s often through a lens tainted by our own biases and imperfections. We tend to avoid admitting our wrongs or weaknesses. Our human judgment can be influenced by sin, leading us to miss the mark. However, God’s understanding of our hearts is unfathomable, while our self-awareness remains incomplete. This devotional explores the importance of seeking true self-awareness through God’s perspective.
This is where we get to see the fullness of God’s unconditional love. The cracks within us allow God’s light to shine through. We should embrace the opportunity to let Him into our hidden places. God wants us to trust Him with our darkest parts, knowing that He will not abandon us.
God knows our deepest thoughts and is fully aware of the darkness within us. We need not feel shame or despair; God’s love remains constant. He desires access to those hidden areas, urging us to trust Him enough to reveal our true selves. God takes our darkest parts, shines His light upon them, and transforms them for good.
Today as we invite God into our hidden thoughts and attitudes, trust Him with your true selves, even the darkest parts and allow Him to heal you from within.
Prayer for today: God, help me trust You with my truest self, even my darkest parts. May I fully embrace self-awareness with Your guidance. Thank You for Your unwavering love and transformative power. Amen.
