Develop a Friendship with God
The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He makes know to them His covenant. Psalm 25:14
True friendship is such a great thing! Friends listen, speak, understand, and accept because there is a bond. We all like to be liked and one of life’s greatest blessings is being able to spend time with those whom we can rightly call friends. After all, no man is an island! It simply is the way we are made. However, the best friendship you can develop while here on earth is a friendship with God.
Developing your friendship with God is similar to developing a friendship here on earth. It takes time. You can be as close to God as you want to be; it all depends on how much time you are willing to invest in the relationship. The gift for which we should be praying and the gift the Father delights to give to His friends is His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit who ministers to the deepest needs of our hearts – knowing that the indwelling Spirit ministers in a particular way to God’s children.
Once we’ve made the choice to accept the Son of God. It should be our desire to then develop a relationship with Him.
