Contagious Joy

I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! John 15:11

The holiday season brings with it a touch of magic and wonder, much like the movie “Elf.” In this heartwarming film, Buddy, played by Will Ferrell, discovers that he’s not like the other elves—he’s human. Despite the differences, Buddy embraces his uniqueness and spreads joy wherever he goes. As we continue in this Advent season let us remember this inspiration lesson, to spread joy wherever we go.

Buddy’s infectious spirit and genuine kindness transformed the lives of those around him. Similarly, as followers of Christ, we are called to spread joy, kindness, and love. Acts of kindness, no matter how small, can brighten someone’s day. Remember that the simplest gestures often carry the most significant impact.

This holiday season, let your inner elf shine, bringing light and love to those around you. May the joy and wonder of Elf inspire us to live with childlike faith, embracing the extraordinary journey God has set before us.

Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons we can learn from unexpected places. As we go about our day, help us to spread joy, and believe in the extraordinary possibilities You have for our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
