Come Boldly to the Throne of Grace
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Hebrews 4:16 is one of the most amazing invitations in all of Scripture. God does not simply allow us to come to Him, He calls us to come boldly, confidently, without fear, and without hesitation. This command makes sense only when we understand the context: we have a High Priest, Jesus Christ, who knows our weaknesses, carries our burdens, and intercedes on our behalf. Because of Him, the throne that once represented judgment becomes a throne of grace.
Coming boldly does not mean approaching God with entitlement. It means coming with the assurance that we are welcome. Jesus’ sacrifice has removed the barriers. God isn’t annoyed by our requests. He isn’t tired of hearing our struggles. He isn’t disappointed when we admit we’re weak. Instead, He meets us in that place of vulnerability and welcomes us into His loving arms.
Prayer for today: Father, thank You for inviting me to Your throne of grace. Help me to come boldly not because of my strength, but because of Your mercy. Teach me to trust that You welcome my honesty, my weakness, and my needs. Give me the courage to seek You first in every moment of need, knowing that You provide exactly what my heart requires. Amen.
