Christmas in July

Christmas in July
Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see him— even those who pierced him. And all the nations of the world will mourn for him. Yes! Amen! Revelation 1:7
There’s many speculations on the origin of ‘Christmas in July’; some say it stems from a celebration at a summer camp in Brevard, N.C. Others say it happens as a result of the celebrations in the southern hemisphere associated with the cooler temperatures. While there is so much to debate about the origins of Christmas in July, there is no debating the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The coming again of Jesus will be wonderful news for believers.
Hardly a day passes without there being some new story of man’s suffering. But there will come a day when all those who have stood with the mockers – everyone from those who pierced Him to those today who oppose Him – will suddenly be in deep mourning for what they have done and what they have lost. Just as we are looking forward to the celebrations of the Christmas season, let us look towards the day our Savior will return.
Yes the day is coming – I urge you to be like the wise virgins of Matthew 25:1-13 – and be ready!
Prayer for today: Thank You, Jesus, that You not only fulfilled prophecy when You came the first time, but the prophecies about your second coming are also going to be fulfilled when You come again. All praises to God. Amen.
