And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’ Luke 19:17
A 2017 study in the USA revealed that people check their phones between eighty and three hundred times a day, depending on their age. We are constantly seeking the latest trends, frequently scrolling through Facebook, Instagram, and X for the next exciting update. This constant need for instant information can make us impatient with God, especially when He seems silent or slow to respond to our prayers for guidance and direction. We’re used to instant feedback from Google searches and social media.
Jesus taught that faith as small as a mustard seed is enough to accomplish great things for His Kingdom (Matthew 17:20). He reminded us that not even one of the little sparrows is forgotten by God (Luke 12:6). Know this today, you are not forgotten.
In this season while you wait to hear from God, take time to reflect on the last thing He told you. Check the archives! Think about the last thing God said that spoke to you, and relive the moment again. Grab your old notes, find an old scripture or hymn that spoke to you and read it or listen to it again. Allow God to remind and refresh you anew. Be a good steward of even the little things God places in your path.
Prayer for today: Thank You, Lord, that You are a God who speaks and who sees even my smallest acts of obedience and service. Help me to be a good steward of the things You entrust to me and to be a doer of Your Word in both small and great things alike. Amen.
