Celebrate Hope
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
This time of year children all over the world are on their best behavior. Unlike the adults who are consumed with all things Christmas related, the child only focuses on the gifts under the tree, hopeful that the item they’ve asked for sits there. We can remain hopeful during these times even when the busyness of this time of year attempts to rob us of joy. Here is a reminder to hold onto that will help you make it through the season: Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
Notice “things hoped for” and “things not seen.” Yes, we are asked to apply assurance to something your five senses can’t detect. It’s a challenge. The plus side is that hope, through Christ, is available to you no matter what you see, hear, or feel. It’s above your circumstances. It’s above what the next few days will unfold for you.
Do you hear what I hear? It’s the sound of Christmas Hope. Today choose to live in hope knowing that the God you serve will not disappoint.
Prayer for today: Thank You, Father, for the Hope You deliver to this weary world. Amen.
