Boldness in Our Time of Need
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Hebrews 4:16 promises two gifts:
- Mercy for the things we regret
- Grace for the things we cannot handle
That means there is no wrong time to come to God. When we’ve failed He gives mercy. When we’re overwhelmed, He supplies grace. When we are uncertain, He gives wisdom. When we’re weak, God strengthens.
We approach boldly not because we are worthy, but because He is gracious. Think of the places you hesitate to bring before God:
- a recurring struggle
- a recurring thought
- betrayal
- unforgiveness
- an unanswered prayer
- a fear about the future
- a burden for someone you love
- a feeling of inadequacy
God invites you to bring those very things to His throne not carefully, not timidly, but boldly. He already knows. He already cares. And He is already ready to meet you in that place.
As we close out these final days of 2025, let us come boldly before the throne bringing to the Father every care, all our frustrations, and even our weakness. Boldness means we don’t have to rehearse our prayers, hide our failures, or pretend we are strong. We can come as we are broken, tired, hopeful, afraid and know that He will receive us with compassion.
Prayer for today: Jesus, thank You for always being there for us, even in our weakest moments. Amen
