Boast in Christ
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. II Corinthians 12:9
Each day we encounter challenges and for the most part, we want to face these challenges all on our own. But you do not have to. Taking on life alone is like a goldfish attempting to swallow a whale; it’s too much and the winner of this scenario is quite obvious. Instead we are called to depend on God. I’d rather boast that it was God who created this miracle than ever take the credit knowing that I am but man.
Jesus said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” The moment we decide to let go of our pride and admit that we are weak, we open ourselves to receiving God’s grace, and we are able to depend on Him for strength. His strength has no limits, His strength cannot be overthrown. The reason why we often fail at our personal battles is because we don’t consider the source. Instead we rely on the wrong strength, our own limited capabilities. But when we boast about our weaknesses and allow Christ’s power to rest in us, overcoming the giants of our life will no longer look like an impossible feat. But by God’s grace, which is sufficient for us, we will claim victory against our daily battles.
