Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Psalm 150:2
Psalm 150
1 Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
This Psalms begins just how we ought to begin the first full week of the New Year, with a shout of ‘Hallelujah’,
All of us are called to worship: ‘Let every living, breathing creature praise God!’ (v.6, MSG).
- Worship everywhere (‘Praise God in his holy house of worship, praise him under the open skies’ (v.1b, MSG).
- Worship him for everything (verse 2 ‘his surpassing greatness’ and what he has done ‘his acts of power’).
- Worship in every way (Praise God with everything you have, including every type of music and dancing (vv.3–5).
Prayer for today: Father God, I praise Your name! I praise you for your surpassing greatness and your acts of power. I worship You for keeping me to see this day. I praise You as the creator of the entire universe. Amen.
