Becoming Better not Bitter – Day 4
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:4
We cannot wind down on this topic of patience without talking about the patience of our Savior. Jesus exemplifies perfect patience. He waits patiently for us to turn to Him, giving everyone ample opportunity to come to repentance. His patience is rooted in His deep love for us and His desire for all to be saved. Reflecting on the patience of Jesus encourages us to show patience to others and to ourselves as we grow in faith.
Meditate on the patience Jesus has shown you in your spiritual journey. Patience and prayer go hand in hand. When we are patient in prayer, we trust that God hears us and is working on our behalf, even when we don’t see immediate answers. This patience in prayer deepens our relationship with God and aligns our hearts with His will. Continuing in prayer with patience teaches us reliance on God and strengthens our faith.
Consider a prayer that you have been praying for a long time. Renew your commitment to continue praying with patience, trusting that God is at work, even if you cannot yet see the results.
Prayer for today: Lord, help me to be patient in prayer, trusting that You hear me and that You are at work. Jesus I am thankful for your incredible patience with me. Strengthen my faith as I wait on Your answers, and help me to stay steadfast in prayer. Amen.
