Ask for Strength
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. Isaiah 40:31
In this spiritual journey we often find ourselves doing all the right things, such as keeping God’s Word and not denying His Name, keeping up with praying and meditation, but sometimes it can feel as if we need more strength. Do you ever feel that way?
In these moments we can turn to the Bible’s great verses about strength and claim them.
Remember the prayer in Ephesians 3:16 that God “would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.” Remember the promise Moses made in Deuteronomy 33:25: “As your days, so shall your strength be.” Meditate on the words our Lord gave to Joshua: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
As we are faithful to the Lord—as individuals and as churches—He will always give us the strength we need to bear the burdens He allows and fulfill the tasks He assigns. As we wait upon Him, He renews our strength like that of an eagle.
Ask the Lord today for the strength you need.
Prayer for today: Touch me, O Lord, and fill me with your light and your hope. Please lend me Your strength, give me courage when I am afraid, wisdom when I feel foolish, and peace when I am in turmoil. Amen.
