Armor
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11
In Ephesians 6:12 Paul reminds us that: our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against…spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. As followers of Christ we have an adversary who works daily to push us off course. There is a battle going on and it’s real. Ephesians 6 Paul goes on to explain how we can avoid being hit by the enemy. The key is in the gear.
The scripture tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. If we are not careful to turn to God for comfort, forgiveness or help, we can be badly distracted from His purposes at these times.
We protect ourselves by putting on the armor of God. It isn’t a physical armor but a spiritual one. That’s because the attacks come from a spiritual source. God’s armor defends us against attack as we apply it in our lives day to day.
God wants us to be safe and has provided us with protection. However, His protection is only good for those who use it. Are you wearing God’s armor?
Prayer for today: Thank you God for the protection that comes with wearing your armor of protection. Please help me to keep my spiritual armor in good repair so I can live under your protection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
