Allow God to Order Your Steps
Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. Psalm 119:113
An ancient Chinese proverb says, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Even long and difficult undertakings have a starting point; you can’t begin a long journey at the halfway point. You must begin at the beginning. Today is a new day, with that brings new mercy and a new beginning. God’s Word declares, “Guide my steps by your word….” (Psalm 119:113). When we allow God to order our steps, we usher in His presence along this journey and allow Him to fulfill His the plan and desires.
Steps made in our own will because of lack of knowledge or rebellion will always lead to destruction. In the moment our plans may seem to work but when the going gets tough we realize it was wrong all along. Our will is not God’s best for our life, that is why Jesus in the Book of John said, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26)
Allowing God to order your steps only comes from faith in what is written by God. Accepting what you cannot see, walking by faith and not by sight. Today is a good day to allow God to order your steps.
