All Eyes on God
To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be praise and honour, glory and might, for ever and ever. Revelation 5:13
What we focus on grabs a hold of our attention and shapes us. As followers of Christ, we are called to focus our attention on God, not circumstances. We are called to focus on God who never changes, instead of situations or feelings which endlessly change and shift. When our perspective is clear and our focus is sharply on God, we can be the overcomer that God has placed in each of us. Our praise does not diminish because our circumstances are less than, no it continues because God sits on the throne.
King David and the people worshiped the Lord in the beauty of holiness and God gave him victory in battle and established his kingship. The scriptures also speak of nature praising God, (Isaiah 55:12) and centuries later, Jesus himself declared that if His disciples don’t praise God, even the very stones will cry out and praise Him! Chapters 4 and 5 of The Book of Revelation explode into a climax of praise and adoration to Almighty God – for there is victory in praise!
It is clear from this all, that the major key to breakthrough in many of our circumstances is praise. Keep focused on God and praise His holy name. For as we praise God, we access His mighty resources. So today, let not your heart be troubled, praise the Lord with all that is within you, for God is well pleased with us when we do.
Prayer for today: Gracious God, we pray for the Holy Spirit to breakthrough and renew in the lives of your people unleashing fearless, Christ-centered and Spirit-led warriors! Empower us and boldly use each of us, without limits, to reach new people and to heal our broken world. Create in us a joyful heart for all that God is doing in and through us to change lives and transform the world. We pray in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
