Advent – The Hope of Christ
But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Micah 7:7
This past Sunday represented the first day of advent. Many Christians celebrate advent because it is a season of joyful anticipation. The word anticipation, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary, means ‘the act of looking forward’. We are looking forward to all which the birth of Christ has to offer. Christmas celebrates our Immanuel, God with us. Let’s prepare our hearts to receive encouraging words for this upcoming Advent season.
While this season looks different in 2020 there is one thing that remains the same; we still serve the same Savior, the same LORD, and the same “soon coming King.”
Born in a lowly stable, laid in a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes; His first cry; the same as His last cry, was for you and for me. He is our only hope!
