A Lesson Learned
Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. 2 Samuel 6:12
In today’s reading, David also learned an important lesson about the presence of God. Although his desire to restore the Ark was good, he discovered that God’s presence must be approached God’s way. Through obedience and surrender, David learned how to properly carry what was holy. We cannot walk with God using worldly methods. True blessing flows from obedience and surrender to His will.
Each day we stand at a crossroads: we can rely on our own strength, or we can choose to walk with the presence of the Lord guiding our steps. When we choose His presence, we choose His peace, wisdom, and strength to sustain us.
Prayer for today: Loving Father, thank You for always being patient with me. I don’t always get it right, but I am glad that You have given me the gift of the Holy Spirit to be my guide. I pray that my heart will continually be in tune with His guidance. Amen
