A Glorious Future
As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness. Psalm 17:15
David presents a vivid contrast between the future of the wicked and his own future. He has already described the future of the wicked as empty, where they will face destruction because they have no eternal hope in God (Psalm 17:14). In contrast, David’s future is glorious. He looks forward to seeing God’s face, knowing that he will be satisfied when he “awakens” in God’s likeness. This verse is a beautiful reflection of the hope of resurrection, the ultimate victory of the righteous, and the joy of being in the presence of God forever.
Today reflect on the future. Do you find hope in the promise of eternal life with God?
David anticipates a future where he will be resurrected, fully restored, and in the presence of God. This is the same hope that Christians have today: the promise of eternal life with God, where every tear will be wiped away and we will be made whole. This hope transcends any earthly suffering or injustice, because we know that no matter what we face now, our future with God is secure.
How does the hope of resurrection shape the way you face present difficulties and challenges?
Prayer for today: Lord, thank You for the glorious future that awaits me in Your presence. I am grateful for the hope of resurrection, knowing that no matter what trials or injustices I face, my eternal fate is secure in You. Help me to live today with my eyes fixed on the eternal joy of being in Your presence forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
