A Dangerous Weapon
Imitate God, therefore in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Ephesians 5:1
Joshua and the Israelites marched around the city of Jericho for six days. Following God’s orders, on the seventh day they marched seven times; then they shouted and the walls fell down. The Israelites went in and conquered their enemy! In simple terms, they used the same exact tool our God did in the creation of this earth – His Words.
Learning to speak the Word of God aloud is essential to living a life of victory that Christ died to give us all. We have used our mouths, our words long enough to allow Satan access into our lives. It is time we, the people of God, stood up as Joshua and the Israelites did and praised a Holy God. Bringing down the obstacles and rebuilding walls in our lives with the Word of God. While negative words and complaining attracts evil spirits, praise and thanksgiving attracts the Presence of God!
There is nothing more dangerous to Satan than someone: who walks in love and forgiveness; who believes and obeys God’s command; who prays – not only for others but diligently seeks a personal relationship with God through prayer. Each day as you praise with a heart of thanksgiving you will find your hope and faith arising. You will find yourself shedding the old and putting on the new.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father forgive me for being silent when I should be shouting. Help me to understand that the same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives within me and with it I can do all things. I believe that You are the Almighty God, All Powerful, and Sovereign God. Help me to match my prayers to my expectation of who You are and not to what makes sense to me in the flesh but on what I know of who You are in the Spirit. Amen
