Advent – Holy Spirit  

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14

This weekend’s song reminds you of warmth, comfort and a good tidings

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,

Jack Frost nipping at your nose,

Yuletide carols being sung by a chior,

And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

If there’s one song that has the “Christmas Spirit” it’s this one. It makes us think of a scene where we imagine carolers coming to our doors while we offer them some tasty, homemade apple cider fresh off the stove while the most beautiful snowflakes fall to the ground.

Love it or hate it, there’s no escaping it: From Thanksgiving to Christmas, the songs of the season are everywhere. For so many this time of year brings about a nostalgic feeling. Reminding them of the good old days and times spent with the ones you love.

For the follower however, this time of year means so much more. It reminds us of the day Mary gave birth. Joy came to the world because God our great Creator loved His creation so much that He sent His Son.
