Monday Morning Manna
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water…Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels!… Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly. Numbers 20:7-11
Yesterday speaking from Number 20:1-12, Minister Nigel Thomas spoke on ‘The Power of Your Decision’. Using the background story of Moses at Kadesh, Minster Thomas encouraged us to consider to learn about the consequences of our decisions. From the beginning of time God has equipped man with the unique ability to decide. Animals do not have this sort of ‘cognitive’ thinking that man does. If an animal sees a prey it attacks. They act instinctively, as with a built-in, automatic reactionary response to anything that happens in the realm of nature. Man on the other hand has the ability to weigh out the ‘pros and cons’ before making a decision. Man has the ability to decide. It was said in yesterday’s sermon we make over 30,000 decisions daily and it is these decisions which can prevent us, like Moses, from entering into what God has already promised us.
Moses was God’s servant, His pick by God to lead His people out of slavery. You’d expect that Moses would be the one to bring them to the Promised Land. However, in Numbers 20 we read this was not the case. One bad decision, made in the moment of heat caused Moses to miss out on the Promised Land. This one act sums up the word given by Minister Thomas.
An instruction was given from the Father above and each of us has to decide this day who we will obey. In order to make the right decisions we must do three things:
1- Make sure you are following the right instruction
2- Make sure your instruction is coming from the right source
3- Know, that your decision can keep you from the promise of God as it kept Moses from the Promised Land
This week understand the decisions you make can bring spiritual things into existence. Don’t let Satan strip you of the basic human right God created in you – the power to decide. The power to make decisions means that you have the power to make terrible decisions or the power to make life altering changes. Once you decide the consequences of that decision belongs to you. The decisions you make all depends on the instructions you are taking. If you are looking to God the author and finisher, our Source, then you have the power within to choose this day for great things. There is unbelievable power in making the right decision. God marshals His forces behind those who decide to take Him at His Word!
