Praise Him
Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp. Psalm 149:3
God’s Word instructs the believer to ‘praise Him’ in all things for He is worthy. Praise is simply expressing worship for a person, praising them for the virtues and goodness. Our whole life is to be a psalm of praise to God. The whole man is to praise God, body, soul and spirit. The Spirit, which is the part of us that brings us into the holy presence of God where real worship begins. Our spirit is the core of our being that gives and sustains life. It is the place where God’s Spirit dwells and where He communicates with us; the place where He reveals who He truly is; the place where He brings comfort and gives direction for the day to day of life.
The soul, of course, should be affected by our spirits when they are in touch with God, when they’re in fellowship with God. The soul, therefore, will express worship to God. The soul is made up of the mind, the emotion, our focus, and the will – and therefore our thoughts will be of God, and express praise to God. Our feelings and our emotions will be toward God in praise, and even our actions will glorify God.
How do we find peace in troubling times? How do we overcome fear, worry and the anxious choices that result? ‘Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends understanding will guard your mind and your spirit in Christ Jesus’ (Philippians 4:6-7).
Today, take charge of your mind, body, soul and spirit in expressing praises unto God.
