Proverbs
My child, listen and be wise: Keep your heart on the right course. Proverbs 23:19
Wisdom comes from hearing but, not just hearing but hearing the Word of God. Proverbs is a book of wisdom which has stood the test of time. That is proven by its fruit. I personally have taken words and phrases from the book of Proverbs and specifically applied them in my life. In doing this, I found that wisdom begins when you place God first in your life.
In Romans 12, Paul speaks about transforming our mind and taking captive our thoughts – 12 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
God’s wisdom brings clarity to our minds, as we honor Him. We need that wisdom to rightly discern the situation or information which has influenced our decisions.
