Pressing On With Purpose
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Philippians 3:12
In Philippians 3, Paul’s words challenge us to press forward in our walk with Christ, but they also raise an important question: how do we know what we are pressing toward? Psalm 25:14 gives us a beautiful answer: “The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them.” What a privilege it is to belong to a God who not only saves us, but also speaks to us, guiding us, teaching us, and revealing His purposes for our lives.
We are not called to run aimlessly or pursue our own plans. God has a specific purpose for each of our lives, and He desires to lead us into it. We are not left to guess the direction of our journey. As we walk in reverence and obedience, God faithfully leads us step by step into what He has prepared for us.
Pressing on is not just about effort; it is about relationship. It is about knowing the One who has already taken hold of us and allowing Him to shape the direction of our lives.
Learning to live in the love and the fear of the Lord is a wonderful key to turn it’s a key which will unlock even the most difficult situation in your life. With God showing us the way to go, we can then press on with confidence to take hold of that which He has prepared for us in advance. I pray that these devotionals have been encouraging as you step into all that God has set for your life.
Prayer for today: Lord, thank You that You have taken hold of my life for a purpose. Help me to press on with clarity and direction, listening for Your voice and trusting Your guidance. Teach me to walk closely with You so that my life aligns with Your will. Amen.
