Partnering With God
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:5
Psalm 37:5 calls us to a simple but powerful way of life, commit everything we do to the Lord and trust Him with the outcome. God invites us to bring Him into every part of our daily lives, not just the “spiritual” moments, but the ordinary tasks, decisions, and challenges as well.
When we do, we discover that we are never working alone. God is actively involved, guiding, strengthening, and providing what we need along the way.
The apostle Paul echoes this truth when he says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). Paul understood that his strength did not come from self-sufficiency, but from his dependence on Christ. The same is true for us today.
Asking God for help is not a sign of weakness, it is the pathway to strength. What weakens us is not dependence on God, but the attempt to live life apart from Him. When we acknowledge our need for Him, we open the door for His strength to work through our weakness.
God is honored when we come to Him and say, “Lord, I can’t do this without You, please help me.” In those moments, we often discover a renewed peace, clarity, and strength that carry us through what we once thought was impossible.
As the Lord told Paul, “My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we stop pretending to be self-sufficient and instead lean fully on Him, we experience the difference His presence makes in every area of our lives.
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I try to live in my own strength. Teach me to commit every part of my life to You and to depend on You daily. Help me to trust You not only with the big decisions, but also with the small details of my life. Thank You that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Amen.
