A Personal Place
Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. 2 Samuel 6:12
The Ark of the Covenant symbolized God’s presence among His people. It was kept in a safe and personal place, not just thrown about. No place is more personal than our homes and private lives, yet Obed-Edom opened every corner of his life to the Lord. He allowed God’s presence to dwell with him continually.
Today, God is extending that same invitation to us. He desires not just visitation, but habitation. He wants to dwell with us daily.
Prayer for today: Lord, teach me to value Your presence above everything else and to rely on Your strength instead of my own. Let my life become a dwelling place for Your Spirit. Amen.
