Make
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19, NLT
Jesus didn’t simply say “go.” He gave His followers a purpose in their going, He says we ought to make disciples. Not just converts. Not just moments of belief. But lives that are transformed people who follow, learn, and become more like Him.
For the disciples, this meant sharing meals, telling stories, praying together, and teaching what they had seen and heard. This is slower work than we often expect. It’s not about quick results or instant impact. It’s about investing in people, walking alongside them, and pointing them back to Jesus again and again. It meant patience. It meant relationship.
And it still does.
Making disciples isn’t reserved for pastors or leaders it’s the calling of every follower of Jesus. It looks like, making a phone call, sending that text, a social media post encouraging someone in their faith, walking with a friend through questions and doubts, sharing what God is teaching you, or simply living in a way that others can follow.
You don’t need to have all the answers to help someone follow Jesus. You just need to be willing to walk with them as you follow Him yourself.8
Prayer for today: Lord, thank You for the people who have helped me follow You. Show me who I can invest in. Give me patience, humility, and love as I walk alongside others. Help me not just to believe in You, but to help others grow in You. Amen.
