Go
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19, NLT
At its core, the Great Commission is about continuing the work of Jesus. It includes going, not staying passively, but actively engaging the world making disciples, helping others follow Jesus, not just believe intellectually but, teaching others grow in obedience and understanding.
This command is both simple and stretching. Because going means movement. It means stepping out of what is comfortable and into what is unknown. For the disciples, it meant leaving familiar places and carrying the message of a risen Savior into a world that didn’t yet understand. And for us it still does.
We often want more clarity before we move. More confidence. More certainty. But Jesus doesn’t base His command on our readiness, He bases it on His authority and His presence. When He says to “go” that is because He has already prepared the way. The mission is not complicated, but it is costly. It asks for our obedience, our courage, and our willingness.
Lastly, I want you to be reminded we aren’t called to go alone. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead now goes with you into every conversation, every step, every unknown place. Therefore go, knowing that He has promised to be with us always.
Prayer for today: Lord, thank You that the resurrection calls me into action. You have given me a mission, not just a moment. Help me to go where You lead whether it feels big or small. Give me courage to step out, faith to trust You, and eyes to see the opportunities in front of me. Remind me that I never go alone. Amen.
