When the Noise Goes Silent
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. – John 19:30, NKJV
Today marks Good Friday, and as a follower of Christ even though the cheers are gone, the palm branches are gone, and the crowd that once shouted “Hosanna” has turned away today is still a good day!
Good Friday is where everything comes into focus. The same King who entered into celebration now endures suffering. The same Savior who was praised is now rejected. And we don’t mourn, we celebrate because we know this was always the plan.
Good Friday reminds us: Jesus didn’t lose. He chose.
He chose the cross.
He chose the nails.
He chose you.
In what looked like defeat, He was securing victory over sin, death, and the grave. This serves as a reminder for us today and always, when life gets quiet… when prayers feel unanswered… when hope feels distant…
Will you still believe?
Because the truth is:
Silence doesn’t mean God is absent.
It often means He’s doing His deepest work.
Prayer for today: Jesus, thank You for the cross. Thank You for choosing love even when it cost everything. When I don’t understand, help me trust. When I feel weak, remind me of Your sacrifice. I give You my life again today. Amen.
