Living Rooted in Grace
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Grace begins not with striving, but with approaching. The throne of grace is where unmerited favor reigns. It pours out blessing on those who have surrendered their lives to Him, not because they are perfect, but because they are His. Hebrews 4:16 reminds us that we can draw near fearlessly, confidently, and boldly to this throne fully aware of our failures so that we may receive mercy for our sins and grace to help us in our time of need.
God does not invite us to crawl toward Him in shame or fear He calls us to come confidently. His throne is not a place of condemnation for those in Christ; it is a throne of grace.
When we truly believe this, it changes our posture. We stop pretending we’re strong enough on our own. We bring our failures, weaknesses, and needs honestly before God, trusting that mercy will meet us there. Grace reminds us that we are welcomed not because we are worthy, but because Jesus is.
Prayer for today: Lord, in my hardest moments help me to still trust that You care. You are not sitting on high waving a finger in shame, no instead You remain looking a far off in love. Help me come to You honestly and boldly. Teach me to trust Your grace more than my own strength. Amen.
