Seeing Yourself Through God’s Grace
But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ 2 Corinthians 12:9
Grace isn’t just a soft feeling or a rule to follow, it’s a perspective. It’s not looking into the mirror and seeing only your flaws or your accomplishments. Grace is like looking into a clear glass mirror and saying, “There goes I, but by the grace of God.”
This perspective reminds us that everything good, everything strong, and even everything we manage to overcome is not because of who we are, but because of who God is. When we live from that awareness, it changes everything: our self-judgment softens, our pride humbles, and our hearts become capable of extending the same grace to others.
Consider today: When I look at myself, do I see only my mistakes, or do I also see God’s grace at work? How does remembering God’s grace change the way I view myself today?
Prayer for today: Lord, help me to see myself through the lens of Your grace. Remind me that every strength, every accomplishment, and every victory in my life comes from You. Let this perspective shape how I live and how I respond to others. Amen.
