Living the Gift
The LORD says, “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are one of the smallest towns in Judah, but out of you I will bring a ruler for Israel, whose family line goes back to ancient times.” Micah 5:2
Christmas Day may have passed, but the gift of Christ remains. The shepherds did not stay in the fields after hearing the angels they went to see the child and then returned, changed, praising God and sharing what they had witnessed. The miracle of Jesus’ birth moved them from wonder to action.
The day after Christmas invites us to do the same. The celebrations quiet down, decorations remain, and life begins to return to normal but our hearts are meant to be different. Jesus was born not just to be admired, but to be followed. His presence calls us to carry peace, kindness, and hope into our everyday lives.
God entered the ordinary through a manger, reminding us that faith is lived out in simple obedience and daily faithfulness. The joy of Christmas continues when we choose to live out the love we have received.
As we step into the days ahead, may we reflect on how the birth of Christ shapes our words, our actions, and our love for others.
Prayer for today: Loving Father, thank You for the gift of Jesus. Help me carry the hope of Christmas into each ordinary day. Teach me to live in a way that reflects Your love and peace to those around me. Amen.
