Mary’s Joy In The Promise
The LORD says, “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are one of the smallest towns in Judah, but out of you I will bring a ruler for Israel, whose family line goes back to ancient times.” Micah 5:2
In Luke 1 verses 46 through 55, we find Mary’s song overflows with joy, proclaiming that God lifts the lowly, fills the hungry, and keeps His promises. Advent is about anticipating this joy the joy of a King who will reign with mercy, justice, and love.
As we wait, we are invited to rejoice, not because circumstances are perfect, but because God is faithful. The promised King brings hope and light into our lives, no matter how dark our world may seem.
Take time to read Mary’s song slowly. Let her joy remind you that waiting for God’s promises is not passive it is filled with hope, praise, and expectation.
Prayer for today: Lord, fill my heart with Mary’s joy as I wait for You. Help me to trust Your promises and rejoice in Your coming Kingdom. Amen.
