A Voice Fulfilled
The LORD says, “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are one of the smallest towns in Judah, but out of you I will bring a ruler for Israel, whose family line goes back to ancient times.” Micah 5:2
When John the Baptist was born, Zechariah, his father, was filled with the Holy Spirit. He broke his silence and proclaimed a song of hope: God had remembered His covenant and was raising up a Savior, a light for those in darkness.
Advent reminds us that God’s promises are faithful, even across generations. The King who was promised long ago is arriving exactly as God planned. He comes to guide our feet into the path of peace and to bring salvation to all who long for freedom from sin and despair.
As you reflect today, consider how God has been faithful in your own life. Where has He kept His promises, even when it felt like they were delayed?
Hold onto those truths and trust that the same God who fulfilled the promise to Zechariah’s family will fulfill His promises to us.
Prayer for today: Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness throughout generations. Help me recognize Your work in my life, even when it is unseen. Strengthen my hope as I await the coming of Your eternal Kingdom. Amen.
