Gratitude Today and Always
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1Thessalonians 5:16-18
As the month of November comes to an end and the season of Thanksgiving fades into the background, it’s easy for our hearts to slip back into routine moving on, shifting focus, and letting gratitude become something we remember once a year instead of something we practice every day. But for those who follow Christ, thanksgiving is not a holiday it’s a habit, a posture, a way of living.
Giving thanks is not a moment we step into once a year, it’s the will of God for us every single day. Gratitude is both the fruit and the fuel of our walk with Jesus.
The world treats gratitude as a season, but the people of God treat gratitude as a lifestyle.
Seasons change, circumstances shift, and emotions rise and fall but the goodness of God remains constant. And because He never changes, our thanksgiving never has to end.
When the calendar turns, His faithfulness does not.
When life becomes ordinary again, His mercies are still new every morning.
When the pressures of daily life return, His grace continues to carry us.
Thanksgiving is not tied to how we feel, it’s tied to who He is.
When we practice gratitude daily, it transforms us. It softens our hearts, quiets our anxieties, and reorients our attention toward God’s presence in every moment.
Prayer for today: Lord, as this month comes to an end, let my thanksgiving never fade. Teach me to practice gratitude daily not as a moment, but as a lifestyle. Open my eyes to see Your goodness in ordinary places, and help me walk in continual thanks for all You are and all You do. Amen.
