The Altitude of Gratitude
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1Thessalonians 5:16-18
Gratitude honors God. Gratitude echoes His grace and mercy. My pastor often says that gratitude is the seed for more. When we recognize and express appreciation to the Father for all that we have received, we are planting seeds that invite even greater blessings.
As we cultivate a grateful heart over the next thirty days, let the attitude of gratitude reshape the way we think and live. May we remember that this life is not our own, for who but the Creator gives life? It is almost inconceivable that God should show mercy to us, and yet, He does. Because of this, we are not our own; we belong to our Maker. Our very existence is owed to Him, and therefore, our lives must be lived for Him.
Be encouraged this morning as you continue to nurture a heart of thanksgiving and praise. Living with gratitude is not natural, it is supernatural. True thankfulness flows only from a heart that is deeply connected to the Lord Jesus Christ. When you begin to see life not merely as it is today, but as Jesus died for it to be, how can you not shout Hallelujah! even in your current circumstances?
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank You for the countless blessings You pour into my life each day. Teach me to see Your hand in every detail to recognize Your mercy, Your provision, and Your love. Forgive me for the moments I’ve taken Your goodness for granted. Fill me with Your Spirit so that gratitude becomes my daily posture. May praise flow from my lips and thanksgiving fill my heart, no matter my circumstances. Let my life bring honor to You, the Giver of all good things. In Jesus’ name, Amen
