Hope That Holds On
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19
Hope is powerful. It’s what keeps us moving forward when we feel stuck. It’s what lifts our eyes when everything around us looks dark. But the kind of hope the Bible speaks of the hope found in Christ is not fragile or fleeting. It’s described as an anchor for the soul. Why an anchor? Because life often feels like open water, unpredictable, shifting, and at times, overwhelming. And when waves of anxiety, grief, or doubt hit, we need more than surface-level encouragement. We need something deeper. Something stronger.
Jesus is that anchor. His promises don’t fail. His love doesn’t waver. His presence never leaves. When we’re tempted to drift into fear or despair, His hope holds us in place. The storms may come, and trust me they will, sometimes it will come at you so fast that you will find yourself shaken but take heart no matter the winds or the waves you won’t be uprooted. You’re anchored in something eternal.
Prayer for today: Father, thank You for the hope I have in You, a hope that holds me steady when life feels unstable. Teach me to lean into that hope daily, to trust that You are who You say You are. Anchor my heart in Your truth so that I may stand firm, no matter what comes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
