God Was There
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19
God was there when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to bow down to an idol. King Nebuchadnezzar, who had ordered their execution, expected to witness their destruction but instead, he saw something miraculous: “‘Look!’ Nebuchadnezzar shouted. ‘I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!’” — Daniel 3:25
God was there when Daniel was cast into a den of lions for remaining faithful in prayer. When King Darius returned at dawn, expecting the worst, Daniel declared: “My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me.” — Daniel 6:22
As Christians, we do walk through storms in life. But we can hold our heads high because the Lord is with us.
God was there when Jonah ran from His calling and found himself thrown overboard in the middle of a violent storm. Even then, the Lord had not abandoned him: “Now the Lord had arranged for a great fish to swallow Jonah.” — Jonah 1:17
Over and over again, Scripture shows us this truth: God doesn’t always stop the storm, but He always walks with us through it. His presence may not always remove the fire, silence the lions, or calm the sea immediately, but He never leaves us in it alone.
Whatever fire you’re facing take heart, God is there. And He is more than enough.
Prayer for today: Lord, thank You for being with me in every situation, in the fire, in the den, and in the storm. Remind me that Your presence is not dependent on my circumstances but on Your faithfulness. Help me to trust that even when things seem out of control, You are still with me, working all things for my good. Strengthen my faith to walk with You, no matter what comes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
