A Life of Gratitude for God’s Sovereignty
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. Psalm 121:8
In a world full of chaos and uncertainty, it can be easy to forget that God is sovereign over everything. This is why its important for us time and time again to write down a thanksgiving list. When you take inventory of all the ways God has been good, His guiding hands, His perfect timing in every season, your heart begins to overflow with praise.
David declares that the Lord is known for His acts of justice, and this is reason for thanksgiving. We can be thankful because we know that God’s sovereignty brings order to the chaos, and His justice will ultimately prevail.
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, as we come to the end of this week, we lift our hearts in thanksgiving to You. We praise You for Your goodness, Your justice, and Your never-ending faithfulness. Thank You for the wonders You have performed in our lives—both big and small. We are in awe of who You are and all You have done for us. Holy Spirit, help us to continue to live lives marked by thanksgiving, not just in the good times, but in every season. May we always remember Your faithfulness and proclaim Your goodness to others. Fill our hearts with joy as we rejoice in You, our refuge and strength. Thank You, Jesus, for Your love and grace. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise. Amen.
