The Power of Rejoicing in God
I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:2
Thanksgiving starts with remembering, not just what God has done for us, but also who He is and the depth of His love and power. This spirit of gratitude is at the very core of a believer’s life. The atmosphere changes when we begin to give God thanks and sing praises unto His name.
David speaks not only of thanks but of joy and rejoicing. True thanksgiving is a celebration of who God is, and this joy should come from the core of our being. To rejoice in God is to recognize His sovereignty, to celebrate His goodness, and to honor Him with everything in us.
Prayer for today: Holy Spirit, we ask You to remind us today of the wondrous deeds You have done in our lives. Help us to recall the moments of grace and miracles, big and small, and let our hearts overflow with thanksgiving. As we remember, let us rejoice and sing praises to You, O Most High. Amen
