Faith for the Journey
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Hebrews 11:1 begins with a powerful declaration: “Now faith is…” — not faith was, or faith could be, or faith should be. No, it says faith is. Present tense. Because of this truth, we can hold on to God’s promises and refuse to settle for less than what He has spoken. We are called to place our faith in God and to hope for things that will last for eternity — things unseen, yet more real than what is temporary.
When we understand how God works we will know the solution we are waiting for may not come in the way or in the time in which you expect it, but in these moments keep holding on to hope. The journey you’re on is part of the process. It may take longer than you’d like. It may be harder than you thought. You may sweat, struggle, and even pay more than you bargained for — but when this phase of learning is complete, God promises you’ll come forth as pure gold.
God knows exactly what He is doing. He shapes us, molds us, and refines us, addressing even the most painful parts of our lives. If we trust Him, He will form us into the vessel He envisioned from the very beginning of time.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, help me to hold on to the truths written in Your Word. Strengthen my faith to believe now — not just for the future. Help me to trust You in this season, even when I cannot see the outcome. Amen.
