Every Breath in Praise
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:6
“Praise” is a popular worship song by Brandon Lake, Chris Brown, and Chandler Moore. But did you know that it’s not just a song? It’s actually a verse from the Old Testament—Psalm 150:6. In the New King James Version, it says, “Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!”
There are times in life when circumstances knock us off our feet, causing us to question if God truly loves us, whether we’ll ever be whole again, or when things will finally improve. But here’s the good news: the Psalmist doesn’t instruct us to praise only on good days. He says that as long as we have breath, we are to praise. These verses serve as a powerful concluding call to praise, urging all of creation to acknowledge and glorify God. Every breath we take is a gift that should be used in praise.
God is worthy of our praise not only on the good days but also through the bad, in our moments of joy and even through our tears. Whether we are rejoicing or mourning, He is worthy of our praise.
When we reflect on who God is and all He has done, what would be the most fitting response from us, as His created beings? Praise the Lord!
Prayer for today: Father, thank You for the wonderful gift of the Psalms. As I read them, I align my spirit with Your will, and my heart responds with pure adoration for who You are. I pray that You will cover us today as we sing praises unto Your name. Amen
