We Praise a Truthful God
God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? Numbers 23:19
As we approach April 1st, also known as April Fool’s Day, it’s a time where pranks, jokes, and trickery are the norm. People often play lighthearted tricks on one another, and while it can bring a laugh, the idea of being deceived or caught off guard is a reminder of how easily we can be tricked or misled by others. But there is one who is different from all of this—God.
Unlike the pranks of this world, where people may pull harmless (or not-so-harmless) tricks, our Heavenly Father is not in the business of deception. He doesn’t play tricks on His children, nor does He make promises He doesn’t keep. When God speaks, it is truth. When He makes a promise, it is certain. Our God is faithful, and His word stands forever.
God’s promises are real, and His faithfulness is guaranteed.
Today, I invite you to give praise to the promising keeping God. Take a moment to be reminded of the unchanging, unshakable promises of God. He is worthy of our praise, and we can trust Him fully, knowing that He will never trick us. His goodness, faithfulness, and love are true, today and always. Consider His promises to you—He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6), to work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), and to be your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). These are not empty words, and He does not change His mind or “pull a prank” when things get tough. What He says, He will do.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, I thank You for being a firm foundation always in my life. You are not like man that You should lie. No, You are excellent in all Your ways and for this reason my heart sings praises to Your name. Amen.
